Bimeda were delighted to attend this year’s Livestock Event & Dairy Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
The event was the perfect opportunity to officially launch Bimeda’s teat seal, Boviseal, which we believe will be instrumental in helping UK dairy farmers to lock out mastitis.
Bimeda were also pleased to host the ‘Boviseal Quality Milk & Mastitis Workshop’. This drop in clinic was visited vast numbers of UK dairy farmers, who were able to get expert advice about mastitis prevention and quality milk production. Experts such as Peter Edmondson, were available to discuss topics such as mastitis risk factors, the correct procedure for infusing Boviseal, optimum bedding materials to reduce the risk of mastitis, and the economic benefits of using Boviseal teat seal.
There was a hugely positive response from farmers in attendance. One Devon-based farmer who currently does not use a teat seal, commented, ‘I’ve always been sceptical about sealing and just thought of it as a cost, but when I went through the cost-benefit analysis with Bimeda’s vet, it was clear that teat sealing actually makes good economic sense’.
